Jessica Alise Harris

Jessica Alise Harris is from New Orleans, La. She attended high school and college in Colorado and has enjoyed living in Florida since 1994. She is a Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (F.R.I.D.) QA Level 3 Sign Language Interpreter.

Jessica Harris has been involved with the Deaf and Interpreting community since August 1996. The first Deaf person she met was actually the instructor for her first sign class. She received her Associates Degree in Sign Language Interpretation and received the 1997-1998 Outstanding Internship in Interpreter Training Award from Hillsborough Community College Tampa, FL. Jessica Harris continued her education and received her Bachelor's Degree in Sign Language Interpretation from the University of South Florida. During this time she also enjoyed working for five years as a Program Director for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida, Inc. She is the former PAH!FRID (Pasco and Hernando Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) President. In 2004 she branched off to run her own Interpreting Agency.

She is also an extremely proud mother of her son and twin baby boy & girl. She looks forward to continuing to be actively involved in the deaf/interpreting community and to provide superior service to our community and interpreters.

I am Beth-Ann Champion Reed and would like to introduce myself. I am from Florida and was born Hard of Hearing. I was raised hearing and went through mainstreamed classes. I took my first sign language class in college and was immediately hooked and fascinated by the language. In 2000, I decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in sign language, so I took a refresher course through the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida, Inc. where I met Jessica Harris. I completed my internship through Land O’ Lakes High School and received an Associates Degree in Sign Language Interpretation at Hillsborough Community College in 2003.

While attending college I worked for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida, Inc. for three years, along with Jessica. I married my high school crush in 2006 and a year later had a beautiful daughter. I am currently pursuing an A.S. Degree in Business at Pasco-Hernando Community College. I am very excited to be working for Jessica Harris Interpreting Services, Inc. and look forward to serving the Deaf and Interpreting community.

I was raised in New Orleans, La and graduated Riverdale High School in 1971. After graduation I spent several years with an Accounts Receivable Department and went on to receive my Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) License in 1986. I am married and have two children and four grandchildren. I lived in Colorado for six years and have been in Florida since 1995. I have worked with Jessica Harris Interpreting Services, Inc. since August 2007. In August 2011 I accepted the position of Administrative Clerk.

Kelly Gilbert

Hi my name is Kelly Gilbert. I was born and raised in Florida. I am a full time student at Pasco Hernando Community College, and I will obtain my Business Administration degree in spring of 2010. I am also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Psi Beta Honor Society. I married my high school sweetheart and we have a beautiful son. I became interested in the Deaf community because my best friend is hard of hearing. I have over six year’s administrative experience and completed my business internship with Jessica Harris Interpreting Services, Inc. I am so excited to be joining the team.
